Jessica Wakefield needed a date to the 40’s Swing Fling Dance, but Bruce was already going with one of the best dancers on the cheerleader squad, Annie Whitman. Jessica last heard from Sweet Valley High’s resident gossip, Caroline Pearce, Bill Chase was dating the new girl, Alexis Rose. Alexis was pretty with long wavy hair and big brown eyes. Her family tragically lost all their money and were forced to move into their Sweet Valley beach mansion. She was nice but she wasn’t the brightest and that’s what Jessica liked the most about her.
After school, Jessica cornered Alexis outside the modeling classroom.
“I heard Bill is looking for a model for a surfing photoshoot,” Jessica hinted, watching Alexis’ glee.
“I’m not surprised he asked for me. One time I was swimming in Costa Rica and I ran into Alana Blanchard and she gave me a couture bikini that would be perfect for this,” Alexis not-so-humbly bragged.
“Whatever,” Jessica waved her hand. “Just meet Bill tonight at Moon Beach.”
Alexis went straight home to prepare for her boyfriend’s modeling gig while Jessica prepared to hunker down for the night as Sweet Valley was hit by the ‘storm of the century’. When Alexis Rose didn’t turn up for school the next day, Jessica didn’t even bat an eye.
