Welcome to The Avocado’s weekly discussion of Japanese pop culture! Sometimes, for no reason at all, a band/musician doesn’t click with me…until suddenly, without anyway warning, they do. This was true for Mrs. GREEN APPLE. I’ve been aware of them for a while, and I’d listened to a few of their songs without anything catching. And then I heard 「ケセラセラ」(“Que Sera Sera”) and everything changed. I changed. I still don’t know how to properly explain it, but that song opened up my heart and my brain and now I can’t stop listening to all of their music. I have also spent a lot of time watching their live performances because I find them so compelling and…I don’t know…invigorating? It’s like their energy is contagious. And I love, love, love Motoki Ohmori’s voice. I could listen to it all day long (and often do). Anyway…I’m late to the party, but don’t make the same mistake I did. Open your heart to Mrs. GREEN APPLE today!
And, as always…
What have you been watching/reading/playing/eating/listening to lately?
Happy Wednesday! 🙂
