- #18 I am Lapis Lazuli was our last instrumental track, having bested #15 Tower of Mistakes during the round of 32. Sadly, its time in the tournament is over, losing our biggest blowout to #2 It’s Over Isn’t It 27-2
- Indeed, our final 8 is pretty chalky, with seeds 1-5, 8, and 10 all advancing. This masks some near upsets, though, as #4 Here Comes a Thought almost had another think coming before narrowly edging out #20 Love Like You (End Credits) 16-13.
- By far the biggest outlier in the top 8 is #22 Strong in the Real Way, which outlasted fellow early series song #6 Giant Woman 17-13. Perhaps it was under-seeded?
- What can I do for #16 What Can I Do (For You)? Well, I can’t advance it, not after it lost to #1 Stronger Than You 25-4, but I can at least give it today’s header image.
