It’s time for another round of Muppet Casting, where we take a famous movie and ask, if Jim Henson’s Muppets made their own version of it (in the vein of The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island), which Muppets would you cast in the lead roles?

This week, it’s The Princess Bride!

Rowlf the Dog as Westley – “There’s a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. Twoud be a pity to damage yours.” “No one’s going to surrender to the Dread Pirate Westley.”

Miss Piggy as Buttercup (knocks Westley down a hill) “Oh, my sweet Westley, what have I done?” (rolls down hill after him)

Sam the Eagle as Prince Humperdinck – “You know how much I love watching you work. But I’ve got my country’s 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it. I’m swamped.”

Uncle Deadly as Count Rugen – “Have you been chasing me your whole life only to fail now? I think that’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard. How marvelous.”

Statler & Waldorf as Miracle Max & Valerie – “Think it’ll work?” “It’d take a miracle.” “DOH HO HO HO HO!”

The Swedish Chef as The Clergyman – “Mawage ista wotta bwingsus too-gedder too-day.”

Pepe the Prawn as Inigo Montoya – “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die, okay?” “There’s not a lot of money in revenge.”

Rizzo the Rat as Vizzini – “You’re trying to kidnap what I have rightfully stolen.” “You ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? Morons.”

Sweetums as Fezzik – C’mon.

Those are my picks for a Muppet rendition of The Princess Bride. What are yours?
