- After much drama, including a league and federal investigation, the Kawhi Leonard trade to the Toronto Raptors is complete, reuniting the team with the star who won them the 2019 Finals. In return, the LA Clippers will receive some much-needed picks, Brandon Ingram, and Gradey Dick. Kawhi’s Clippers tenure has been defined by injuries and disappointment, but he can’t contribute less to the Raptors in the playoff that Ingram and Dick did.
- Veteran MMA promoter Scott Coker of Strikeforce and Bellator fame announced his latest venture, Ki MMA, with a suspiciously similar name and logo to K-1 kickboxing. Also like K-1, Ki MMA will heavily feature tournaments, including a 32-man featherweight bracket set to begin in 2027. Personally, I will look forward to all the highs and lows of B-league MMA before this league is inevitably bought out by someone else.
- The New Jersey Devils announced some assistant coaching hires for the years, including Jessica Campbell, who will be manager of player development. She will be the first woman to serve as a full-time coach in the NHL. Good for her!
