Aubie stepped out of the limo, beaming at the dozens of Avocat residents waiting to greet him. “Aubie is here,” he gestured. “Surprise!” Twenty Louisiana mascots stood before him. Only three would enter the Louisiana Mascot Hall of Fame. The rest could suck eggs. Aubie suspected this was not quite the right attitude for a special guest host emcee, but come on, it’s Louisiana. At least the food will be good.
