I’ve heard it said that Easter Sunday is like the Super Bowl for Catholics. Being raised in that tradition it rings pretty true to me. Even though I’m a heathen through and through now old habits die hard and feasting on Easter is one of those old habits. In a twist this year we’ve been invited to brunch by a friend. It will be interesting and I am looking forward to it. It’s a venerable restaurant in Chicago that closed a couple of years ago and was reopened with new ownership. I’m optimistic that it will be good but will also reserve final judgement on the restaurant since it’s a holiday brunch service.
My wife and I went to a Passover Seder Wednesday at a friend’s house. I was the only gentile there and enjoyed the familial chaos that echoed many of my family’s holiday dinners. Header image is the last Easter ham my father made.
