Welcome to The Avocado’s weekly discussion of Japanese pop culture! On our last night in Tokyo last August we went to a concert featuring four bands in a small venue. Not surprisingly, it was one of my favorite experiences from the trip. While I was there to see rubens (リュベンス), I ended up falling in love with one of the other bands playing that night: Toumei Tengoku (とうめい天国). I bought the only CD they had to sell, which contained three songs.1I also told them, in my very shaky Japanese, that I had fun and thought they were really cool! I was very nervous, but also happy I managed to say something coherent. Ever since, I’ve been following them hoping they’d release more music. And they finally have! Two songs, in fact! I’m so happy that I can finally share more of their music with all of you.2Because before this they only had one song on streaming, making it a little difficult to share, unless you want to come over and listen to the CD…which I can only play in my car because it’s the only CD player I have at the moment ^^; I really love the singer’s voice in particular. I hope you watch these videos and enjoy the music!
And, as always…
What have you been watching/reading/playing/eating/listening to lately?
Happy Wednesday! 🌸
