Chocolate and mushrooms, together at last!
I spied this box of confectionery in the “international” section of the grocery store and just had to pick them up.
Created by the Meiji company in 1975 – “Fancy Chocolate Snack” era in Japan – Kinoko no Yama (or “Mountain of Mushrooms”) are milk and chocolate layered snacks shaped like mushrooms, although sadly no mushrooms are included in their ingredients, though they may contain Sesame and Celery. Here’s a delightfully incomprehensible Singaporean advertisement for them:
