The UEFA Champions League Final Spectacular 2024

And here we are, Real Madrid vs PSG, a last hurrah for Mbappé at PSG before he moves to Real Madrid and finally brings glory to PS… wait, sorry, I’m getting a call. What do you mean Dortmund won? We should not have trusted PSG? They’re frauds? That’s a bit harsh, ok, ok, got it, sure.

And here we are, Real Madrid vs Dortmund, a last hurrah for -checks notes- Marco Reus? Sure, that works oh hey and Tony Kroos too. What about Modric? He still has gas in the tank? Are we sure? Yes, I am aware I’m older than him, but in football terms he’s ancient. Anyway, yes this was unexpected, I mean not for Real, they do have a habit of reaching the final, 17 times, but I don’t think many people had Dortmund on their bets. Hell, I don’t think many had them getting out of their so-called group of death. They didn’t even do well on Bundesliga, finishing 5th. Yet, somehow, here they are. The underdogs, -435 underdogs according to the bookies.

Can Dortmund pull it off? Maybe, I mean it is a final and you need to play the games. They did do well against PSG not only winning both legs but keeping clean sheets and it’s not like they don’t have good players. They just don’t have the level of players that Real has. Not only that, but Real has a knack for comebacks, specially in Champions League. They just did it to Bayern, with two goals from Joselu of all people. Heck, even Chicharito was the hero for them once. Whatever it is, Madrid has it, maybe it does need to be studied.

So sure, Dortmund could pull it off, but I wouldn’t bet on it, even with the -435 odds.
