Whew, a lot of close results. First up, the tie. Snake Man is pretty good, but Mystic Cave Zone is maybe the funkiest song in all of classic Sonic, so I had to give it the nod. Not counting that match, we had four rounds decided by a single vote; “Smiles and Tears” winning in particular is a bit of an upset. It was trailing pretty much the entire day, but made an unexpected rally late. I also think it’s the first time a bubble wild card song has advanced, so that’s neat.
