Weekly Video Games Thread is Co-Op Only, So Find a Friend and Start Typing

Happy Monday, folks, and welcome to the Weekly Video Games Thread!

In honor of this month’s Orbitals, which I will once again brag about getting to review before its release, today’s prompt is all about co-op only games! Because this is actually only my second. Back on the Wii U, I played Affordable Space Adventures, a brilliant and demented curio that had up to three players controlling various buttons on the GamePad at once. I loved it, though I never played it, probably because I could never get two other people to play it with me. Since then, I’ve only known of the likes of It Takes Two, Overcooked!, and Left 4 Dead by reputation. Until Orbitals, which really worked for me and did make me more interested in this genre.

Though if I’m being honest, this isn’t another example of Wolfman Jew attempting to marshal the forces of the Avocado for his own benefit. I don’t really have a lot of people in my personal life with whom I can reliably play these games, and getting co-op online sessions together is hard. The chance of me actively using these examples is low. Instead, I’m viewing it more as a way to gain further insight into a field of gaming I largely ignore. I’d like to learn, especially when it comes to games better written than It Takes Two or Split Fiction.

And, of course, what did you play this weekend?
