- Angel Reese had a monster game against the struggling LA Sparks this Monday, collecting 26 “mebounds” along with a double-double. This game gives Reese the all-time WNBA records for not just rebounds in a single game but also in a single season, with several games to go. Safe to say the move to Atlanta worked out.
- LIV Golf, the Saudi-funded competitor to the PGA Tour, has halted operations following its Indianapolis event this past weekend. The tour attracted a lot of major players with eye-watering purses, but audiences didn’t seem to care. There have been talks of continuing as “LIV 2.0”, but as the saying goes, you only LIV once.
- The SEC and Big Ten have issued rulings saying that players who were previously drafted by a pro league will not be able to play in football or basketball for them. The NCAA is still battling in court to see whether class of 2022 players who attempted to go pro will be eligible for a 5th year, but they may not have any major conference teams able to take them.
