DD2 – $1,200 – ALL SCIENCE – Ekman spirals form in the ocean because of the deflection of currents due to this effect named for a Frenchman (Peter improved by $3,000 up to $9,000.)

DD3 – $800 – GEOGRAPHIC BEFORE & AFTER – Span that links Marin County to San Francisco while also leading to the doge’s palace (Peter added $6,000 up to $23,600.)

Final Jeopardy!

20TH CENTURY NOVELS – An introductory note to this novel offered gratitude to “the great profession of architecture and its heroes”

Peter and Alex were correct on FJ. Peter bet the most he could while still locking down the win, adding $16,799 to improve to $49,199 for a two-day total of $68,198.

Final scores: Peter $49,199, Savannah $4,799, Alex $10,800.

Clue selection strategy: In round one, all six top-row clues were chosen with the DD still on the board.

Judging the writers: In GREAT ROAD TRIP CONVERSATION STARTERS, there were two clues combining factual information with something irrelevant, in order to make them “humorously whimsical”. But for the other three clues, they were just straightforward, like they didn’t want to fully commit to the bit. Strange.

Correct Qs: DD1 – What is Hong Kong? DD2 – What is Coriolis Effect? DD3 – What is Golden Gate Bridge of Sighs? FJ – What is “The Fountainhead”?
