“No, Not Mexican Halloween” is the 7th episode of the 1st Season of the USAmerican television situation comedy Dad’s Casa. Dad eats too much Halloween candy and has a nightmare where he recovers a memory from the day he bought the Casa.
I can have one more piece thinks Dad as he’s flipping through the channels-“El Dia De Los Muertos…Noviembre 1”-Oh, Mexican Halloween thinks Dad oh but November 1st is the date I bought the Casa. Suddenly feeling tired and a little ill, Dad thinks he’ll have a little nap. A trippy dream sequence shows Dad re-living the first time he visited the Casa. The viewer sees a raggedy dressed man in the distance passing in and out of view a couple of times before Dad notices and screams and wakes up. Mom and the kids rush in. Mom shakes her head and leaves. Dad asks the kids if they want to hear a scary story? They say yes. And so Dad tells for the first time the story of the time he thought he saw a ghost. “It was the day after Halloween, and many houses were still decorated. It was warm and dry. I parked a few blocks from the Casa, though it wasn’t the Casa yet, and as I was walking, I caught sight of a man, well probably a man, middle-aged and in raggedy clothing, a street over, and he looked towards me and I say towards me rather than at me, because he seemed out-of-this-world. But he disappeared behind a house and I thought it was a little strange. But then I saw him again! Anyway, at the Casa, the agent came out and said I looked like I had seen a ghost. I laughed awkwardly and said there was a raggedy dressed man a street over that I saw a couple of times but it was probably a local who didn’t feel like getting dressed to visit a neighbor or something. They looked around for a bit, shrugged and entered the Casa. The visit went well and I didn’t see the ghost again.” Dad didn’t notice that the twins had fallen asleep.
