Hey, all; Happy And Healthy First Friday of 2026!
As you may have gathered from the header, I’m typing this in a rush, having reached the same conclusion. Between coming down from the holiday havoc, to New Years’ Day being on a Thursday, I honestly am still getting my bearings as to things like time and place now that everything’s (rather) evened out. This also means that I don’t really have anything profound or interesting to say, beyond I guess “thank you.”
We’re not a major artery of the site and, if I might get real with y’all for a second, I often exert more effort these days getting dressed than a do cranking out this column. But damn it, you regulars…You’re here, aren’t you? You’ve planted your stakes, got out the travel grill, and are here week after week: Sometimes, with good news, mostly with bad, but still, here. And I thank you for it. What honestly started more as an exercise to keep myself writing has really become its’ own little thing. thanks to you. and that’s wonderful to see. (Even if it’s mostly kvetching)
So, here’s me as ever, wishing you a safe and productive rest of the day, safe trip home, if out, and a great weekend and year. We made it through another one, and this place stands ready to help take on this next one. And remember: It’s 5 o’clock somewhere.
