Because one thread isn’t nearly enough to celebrate Yuzuru Hanyu (羽生結弦) I needed the Night Thread too. While I love seeing him skating in massive stadiums and arenas, my absolute favorite videos are of him skating in his hometown, Sendai. I was lucky enough to visit Sendai in 2024,1You can read a little about my trip here and I skated at Ice Rink Sendai, and the whole time I kept thinking “I’m breathing the same air, I’m skating the same ice, I’m walking the same steps, I’m sitting on the same bench, I’m using the same vending machine”. It was a truly unforgettable experience. And now, whenever I watch him skating in Sendai, I feel like I’m right back there again. 🥹 So, to continue our birthday celebration, there are two of my favorite videos!
