DD2 – $1,200 – POPE-POURRI – Innocenzo Ciocchi del Monte, a ward of Pope Julius III, was something called a cardinal nephew, a title that gave us this “ism” (Aaron doubled to $7,600 vs. $4,400 for Christopher.)

DD3 – $2,000 – 5-SYLLABLE WORDS – Adjective describing the space between Andromeda & the Milky Way, for example (Aaron dropped just $100 to $10,300 vs. $3,600 for Christopher.)

Aaron found all three DDs and missed two of them, but still held a clear lead into FJ at $13,100 vs. $8,000 for Christopher and $2,200 for Elana.

Final Jeopardy!

HISTORIC HOMES – At a speech here in 1936, FDR called its onetime occupant a “farmer, lawyer, mechanic, scientist, architect,” etc.

Only Christopher was correct on FJ, doubling to win with $16,000.

Final scores: Aaron $10,100, Elana $2,000, Christopher $16,000.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one was able to name the “constellation that’s a big hit Down Under”, the Southern Cross.

Tough category dept.: The players completely struck out on POLYNESIA with a rare 0-for-5.

Clue selection strategy: In DJ, four top-row clues were chosen with at least one DD remaining on the board.
