Yup. We’re doing another Superman header. Sorry? Or, you’re welcome? I guess it depends on if you’re Lex Luthor or not.
The Super Powers Collection was a series of action figures released by Kenner featuring DC Comics heroes and villains. Most of them had action features. So this Burger King toy promotion was made to promote, well, a toy line. There were a set of four Kids Meal premiums to coincide with this, but unfortunately, I can’t find a commercial for those on YouTube. So let’s stick to these cup holders.
From what I can gather, there were actually alternate versions of these toys that were considered surplus and are considered very rare. I can’t find any information of where they might have been sold. As for the Burger King batch, I wonder how well these things actually “held onto” the cups as was supposedly their intended purpose. Did you hold onto the action figure like a coffee mug handle when you drank? Also, this loser kid in the commercial is making Batman fly. Stupid kid. Everyone on the Justice League loves to regularly remind Batman that he doesn’t have powers. Which makes his inclusion in the “Super Powers” line debatable.
Have a SUPER day, y’all! (Except for you, Batman, since you have no powers)
