Those of you who’d like to post future Creative Endeavors Threads post your request in the comments below. Hey, Kevzero here, I’m an amateur photographer based on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I mostly take wildlife photos, but have been recently taking pictures of many other things. This week: Ospreys! One of the surest signs of Spring on Cape Cod is the return of the Ospreys. These beautiful birds-of-prey are starting to come back to the area after spending the winter months much further south . Some Osprey will spend the colder months in Central and South America traveling over 5,000 miles to come back to the Cape to breed over the northern Spring/Summer. Almost brought to extinction because of habitat destruction and more so from DDT use, these majestic birds were brought back by conservation efforts that began in the early 1990’s and is still going strong to this day. Here are some pictures of the first Ospreys that I’ve seen so far this season.
