Welcome to another 30 day challenge which in honor of spooky season will cover the topic of Pop Culture Villains!
Sometimes, the villain of a story is not entirely clear from the outset. Maybe the evil mastermind is someone you never expected, maybe the people you thought were good are decidedly not so, and these facts are only made clear along the way, or maybe at the very end. And so, the main prompt of today is: What are the best and worst examples of twist villains? Do you like this trope?
Bonus prompt: Who became a totally different character after the reveal, to the point where they lost their entire appeal? And who became way more interesting?
Maniacal prompt: Who made the least sense as the revealed villain in their given story?
Machiavellian Prompt: What stories would’ve been better served never revealing their villain? Or revealing them from the start?
