The Avocado Weekly Movie Thread (10/15)

One of the things I love about movies is all of the things. Like a symphony coming together to produce the perfect harmonic resonance movies also depend on a lot of separate items coming together to produce a different type of harmonic resonance, and the greatest movies are the ones where the most parts come together to be maximumly resonant. Writer’s gotta write something great, so the director can direct it into directions where the actors are acting it out. And when it’s all done editing, music, and effects that are ever so special are integrated into a multi-layered dip of delicious awesomeness for your senses.

Music plays possibly the largest part in bring all of this together in the most satisfying ways. Tense scenes are intensified intensely when a proper score is in place (doubly so if the backdrop is camping or the circus). People may not like a movie but often a bad movie may have a great soundtrack which is what most people would remember about it. Some scenes are so musically iconic that whenever you hear a particular song you immediately start thinking about the movie scene now. This guy loves musicals, so when a particularly well done number is broken out it can really get heads boppin, toes tappin and any other rhymical body movements doing that thing they do.

That was a really convoluted way to say that music is a lot of different things to a lot of different movies/scenes. It is not limited to individual scores, soundtracks, needle drops or musicals but can be very wide ranging and engaging on so many levels. I think I ran out of metaphors so with all that being said (hopefully coherently) this weeks prompt: What are some of your main (favourite, but this way it is more alliterative) musical movie moments?
