The Weekly Wrestling Thread Loves The Outrunners

The last few months have seen The Outrunners rise to prominence in AEW and thank Christ. I love these guys. They are so goddamn fun to watch. They’re great wrestlers, great characters, and I can’t help but adore people whose names are Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd. They’ve also got a fun storyline brewing with FTR. They’re a perfect match: FTR are a love letter to ’70s southern wrestling tag teams and The Outrunners are a love letter to goofy high on cocaine WWF tag teams. It was a slow week for wrestling, so I decided to lead with how much these entertain me.

Other notable stories:
-TNA Victory Road was this past weekend and it was a fun show. The highlight was the X Division match between Mike Bailey and Zachary Wentz.
-WWE is bringing back Saturday Night’s Main Event. The first show is scheduled for December 14th on NBC.
-Je’Von Evans is going to facing Randy Orton on the NXT in St. Louis next month. We’re going to be seeing quite possibly the most insane RKO counter ever.
-There’s a wrestler on AEW now named BEEF. I instantly became a fan as soon as I saw his name.
-Konnan accused AEW of spreading negative stories about The Lucha Brothers after it became known that they would probably be heading to WWE. However, literally no one can recall a recent negative story about them. The closest was one saying they were near WWE’s Performance Center but that’s about it. Basically everyone is in agreement that Konnan is just salty that AEW is working with CMLL. Because how dare Tony Khan not want to work with a company with such lax security that one of AEW’s talent was legit attacked at one of their shows.
