Welcome back to the weekly Tabletop Games thread! This thread is where we can talk about all kinds of RPGs, card games, board games, etc. Whether you gather around a physical table in the real world, or use a virtual space to play with friends who may live far away from you, this is where you can discuss your favorites, ask for and/or receive recommendations, recap your recent adventures, or even find some people to play games with!
This week’s prompt: For most of us, making time to get a group of adults together for a few hours of rolling dice and playing pretend is the single biggest obstacle to the hobby. But even if you’re lucky enough to have a regular game night every week or every month, life will get in the way sometimes and someone just can’t make a session. What do you do when someone has to cancel at the last minute? Do you put the whole game on hold until everyone can make it? Or do you run the game anyway, and either let the other players pilot the missing player’s character or just let the character sit out for whatever reason?
If you would like to suggest a prompt or contribute a write-up or discussion topic of your own, let me know in the comments!
