WW222: Oops All Cupid Parasites Day 6

The third date was a moonlit picnic. The man you were paired with this time was a very handsome and rather smooth gentleman. You couldn’t help but feel a bit giddy at the opportunity.

As you walked up to the picnic ground, you noticed some other couples enjoying the full moon. One of them in particular caught your eye. It was a man who you had noticed before, he seemed quite the well-bred gentelman, despite the speech impediment. You all knew him to be a proud, unpleasant sort of man; but this would be nothing if you really liked him. Mr. Darcy, you think he was called. He was on a date with a perfectly normal human person. You think they were called Marlowe.

You tried to walk past, toward the top of the hill where you were meant to meet Smoove, but an argument made you stop in your tracks.

“You are too generous to trifle with us, Precious. If your feelingses are still what they were last April, tell me so AT ONCE. Our affectionses and wishes are unchanged *GOLLUM* *GOLLUM*; but one word from you will silence us on this subject for ever.”

“I keep telling you, put down that ring and look at me, Mr. Darcy!” said Marlowe, and took the ring out of Mr. Darcy’s hands.

Mr. Darcy had become Gollum. It was a horrible sight to behold. Nothing but envious rage filled his face. You quickly tried to intervene, but Mr. Darcy was already on top of the poor normal human person. Through flailing kicks and bites, you and another couple managed to save the normal human person, but that was certainly their last date through CupidCorp.

Mr. Gollum Darcy (copy) has been caught with his precious. He was actually the Recruited Parasite (Wolf Recruit).

Marlowe was never going to recover from this emotionally or financially*. He was actually Melanie, a Special Client (Hidden Town Role).

*Without the help of CupidCorp, who has generously offered to pay for all medical bills and refund Marlowe’s subscription fees.

You spent the next few hours in the hospital, getting Tetanus, Rabies, T-Virus and Cooties shots. The bite from Mr. Darcy looked quite grim, but the doctors assured you that you’d be fine by sunrise.

At the top of the hill, Smoove checked his watch. The moon had nearly set and there was no sign of his date. He sighed, packed up his chocolate whipped strawberry fondue, and trudged down the hill. Maybe this was not Smoove’s year for love after all. He deactivated his CupidCorp account.

Smoove B (sic) was unlucky in love again this year. Better luck next year! He was actually Lynette Mirror (Town Cupid).

I kind of think this is a perfect song. It was actually my first choice to add to the Cupids 4 playlist after FIFTY FIFTY’s Cupid, but we weren’t ready for it until today. You should also listen to the original by Laufey!
Clients & Cupid Corp! (a.k.a. Vanilla Town and Roled Town!)
  • 12 6 Clients (Vanilla Townies) — The clientele of Cupid Corp. Your vote is your power… and so is your ability to be paired off at night!
  • Lynette Mirror (Town Vigilante Cupid): Lynette Mirror is the minor goddess Cupid herself come down to Earth to learn how humans fall in love without the intervention of her arrows. Each night, Lynette must pick a player to be in a Cupid Couple. Please see the Lynette’s Current Powers tab to stay up to date on cupid’s mechanics 🙂
  • Chii (Cupid’s Bodyguard): Chii is Lynette’s divine beast companion from Olympus. Chii shares a private chat with Lynette. At the first day or night kill attempt on Lynette, Chii will die in her place.
  • Owen Herriot (Town Doctor): Shelby Snail’s very overworked personal assistant who is so busy he doesn’t have time to date. Each night, Owen may pick a player to protect from a kill. Cannot pick the same option two nights in a row.
  • Claris Tia (Town Alignment Investigator): Lynette’s best friend and an app developer at Cupid Corp. She wrote the Love Match Test matching quiz which is famous for sorting clients into compatibility pools. Each night, Claris may pick a player to investigate to learn their Alignment.
  • Melanie (Hidden role, additional win condition): A regular client at Cupid Corp–mostly.
The Parasite Five! (a.k.a. Wolf Roles)
  • Gill Lovecraft (Agape/Devotion): Once during the game, Gill may pick another player who he will observe for the rest of the game. All night actions going forth taken by and acted upon this player will be reported to Gill. The formation of couples starting on observation night is reported, but if the observed player is already in a private chat its existence will not be reported.
  • Shelby Snail (Pragma/Practical): Once during the game, Shelby may attempt to make his own Couple with another available single player. Shelby’s coupling will render his partner ineligible for future couplings. For the purposes of Lynette’s and Claris’s powers, Shelby appears as “Cupid Corp”.
  • Raul Aconite (Ludus/Playful): Once during the game after the first Parasite death, Raul may attempt to recruit a Client into the Parasite 5.
  • Ryuki Keisaiin (Eros/Passion): Once during the game, Ryuki may select another player and learn their full role description with all hidden components included.
  • Allan Melville (Mania/Obsessive): Once during the game, Allan may select a player to Jail. If that player was in a Cupid Couple, the couple is torn apart and neither player may be coupled up by Lynette again.
  • Parasite Recruit: A former Client who was chronically unlucky in love.
Lynette’s Current Powers…

Some hidden mechanics may alter the specifics of Lynette’s powers. Check back here each morning to know the result 😉

  • Lynette cannot select anyone from Cupid Corp (Roled Townie) for her pairing.
  • On the first successful selection, the selected player will be told “Cupid has her eye on you!”
  • On a second successful selection, a Cupid Couple may be formed.
  • If the players are a Client (vanilla townie) and a Parasite (wolf), the couple will fall apart and both players exit the game.
  • Cupid Couples can be made up of Client/Client or Parasite/Parasite.
  • If one half of a Cupid Couple dies, the other will survive and no longer be couple-able.
  • Lynette will not be told the outcomes of her attempted couplings.
Special Mechanics and Win Conditions!

Special Mechanics…

  • Each night, in addition to their faction kill, Team Parasite may choose for one of their members to use their one-shot power. Only one Parasite may use their one-shot power per night.
  • There are hidden roles/mechanics in this game.
  • We’re going to be “playing” the game together in the header each day so movements at night will have an effect on the narrative. 😉

Win Conditions…

  • Town wins when all parasites are gone.
  • Wolves win when they make up half or more of the number of active players.
  • Hidden additional win conditions exist for some roles but do not alter the fundamentals of a town victory versus a wolf victory.
