It’s that time of year, folks! We’re prepping to record the year-end AVoCADo GamesCast community extravaganza, and just like last year, we’re trying to involve as many community members as we can. To that end, we invite you all to submit a rundown of your top 3 games of 2019!
We’re going to do things a little differently than last year. We’re going to do a mixture of what we did last year and what we did two years ago. That means you have two options:
- Record your own top 3 rundown and send it to us.
- Record a one-on-one chat with me, The Kappa, or Lovely Bones.
Here’s how Option 1 works:
- Reply to the comment below that says “Sign up for an individual recording” no later than noon EST on December 8th, 2019.
- Record yourself talking about your top 3 games of 2019 and why you chose them.
- Email the recording to me in mp3 format at fork.in.the.road at gmail dot com by noon EST on December 15th, 2019.
- There’s no hard limit to the length, but try to keep it under seven minutes.1The longer the recording, the harder it for The Kappa to edit. By the way, this whole endeavour is a massive editing job, so please give The Kappa a high five the next time you see him.
- Make sure you have a decent-quality mic and a quiet space in which to record. Speak clearly, and don’t add any weird effects to your voice.
- Please mention your username at the start of your recording so that listeners know who you are.
- Your top 3 have to have been released no earlier than December 1st, 2018. (Games that were released earlier but only localized recently are fine.)
- Any kind of video game is fine to include. Don’t feel embarrassed to include browser, mobile, AR, VR, or museum titles.
- We’re not going to impose a hard rule against them, but please try to avoid remasters and re-releases. (A full-on remake like Resident Evil 2 is okay.)
- Please indicate which username you use on this site when you email me.
If you feel awkward just speaking by yourself, you can also sign up to record your top 3 rundown as a one-on-one chat, interview style. Here’s how Option 2 works:
- Reply to the comment below that says “Sign up for a one-on-one chat” no later than noon EST on December 8th, 2019.
- Either I, The Kappa, or Lovely Bones will reply to you to schedule a time/date between December 1st and December 14th to record with you over Skype. We’ll need you to provide a Skype username for this, if we don’t already have it.2You can create a second Skype handle if your existing handle contains your real name and you wish to remain anonymous.
- Make sure you have a decent-quality mic and a quiet space in which to record.
- Your top 3 have to have been released no earlier than December 1st, 2018. (Games that were released earlier but only localized recently are fine.)
