Carnegie Library Night Thread

On this day in 1835, titan of the steel industry and one of the richest men ever, Andrew Carnegie, was born. Carnegie was also a philanthropist, and he donated some serious $$$ to build libraries around the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, and elsewhere.

According to Wikipedia, “The impact of Carnegie’s library philanthropy was maximized by his timing. His offers came at a peak of town development and library expansion in the US.” So, thanks to Andrew Carnegie for all the libraries!

Have a good night & post away!
