PyeongChang is slowly waking up to another day packed with winter action and snowy fun. Athletes from all over the world grab their skis, skates and boards and prepare to represent their homelands. Who will take home one of the 7 gold medals? Who will fall face-first into the snow? And how gnarly will be slopestyle this year? Find out, here find out there, find out anywhere! Let’s do this!
Gold medal opportunities, chronologically
- Men will compete in snowboarding slopestyle finale in 10:00 Korean time
- Another gold medal will be up for grabs one hour later, when men’s downhill kicks off (important note: several news organizations claim the event might be postponed)
- Several hours later (15:15 Korean time), the finals of men’s 15km + 15km skiathlon.
- Shortly after that we can look forward to speed skating and men’s 5000m.
- Main event time slot will kick off with 10km sprint in men’s biatlon.
- And after a nightfall in Korea, the second to last finals will feature men’s luge…
- … followed by second and final runs in ladies’ moguls.
What else is on?
- Curling, duh!
- Figure skating dance party and free rides
- SNB slopestyle ladies’ qualification
- And another round of ladies’ ice hockey: Finland will face USA and Canada will take on Russian not-Russia

Yesterday in people falling face-first into the snow:
Switzerland’s Alina Muller scored the very first hattrick of these games in under 10 minutes. This game also seen the very first match of combined team from Koreas, who unfortunately lost their debut 8:0.
Elsie Christie set an Olympic record in 500m short track heats.
The very first gold medal of the games was awarded to Charlotte Kalla (SWE).
