Welcome back to the weekly Tabletop Games thread! This thread is where we can talk about all kinds of RPGs, card games, board games, etc. Whether you gather around a physical table in the real world, or use a virtual space to play with friends who may live far away from you, this is where you can discuss your favorites, ask for and/or receive recommendations, recap your recent adventures, or even find some people to play games with!
Discussion Prompt: Scenario: You’re in the middle of fighting the BBEG, about to take your turn. The BBEG is next in the initiative order, and you know he’s got a big moved planned that’ll certainly KO at least one party member. You have three attacks, and you think it’s possible for you take out the BBEG this round. You choose your favorite d20 and roll to hit–natural 1. Ok, no problem, second attack–another natural 1. Now you’re getting desperate, only one more chance, and it’s got to hit. You use a Luck point to give your advantage, and you only need a 7 on the die to land a hit. You roll both dice–and get a 2 and 5. Random chance has betrayed you and maybe sent this battle into a death spiral. As the DM moves on to the BBEG’s turn, you’re left staring at your dice. What do you do?
Are you a believer in Dice Jail? Do you have a physical container that you use expressly for the purpose of punishing (or maybe rehabilitating) dice that misbehaved?
If you would like to suggest a prompt or contribute a write-up or discussion topic of your own, let me know in the comments!
