Happy Taemin Day! July 18th is Taemin’s birthday, so this thread is for him! Taemin debuted with SHINee 18 years ago, and he continues to have a very successful career with SHINee and as a solo artist. He is often referred to as the “idol’s idol” because a lot of idols (including Fuma!) look up to him, with many saying he is their role model and that he’s the reason they wanted to make music. Why? It’s not just because he’s an incredibly talented singer and dancer. More than that, it’s because he has worked so incredibly hard to get to where he is today, he speaks his mind freely, he is known for being kind and polite to everyone he works with, he’s a trailblazer who is constantly pushing boundaries, and he is just so fucking cool. I can completely understand why Fuma (and so many others) look up to him, and I will forever be grateful for all that he’s done to inspire Fuma!
Of course, his music is amazing too. After &TEAM, I’ve definitely listened to him the most over the past year. I haven’t heard a single Taemin song that I don’t love. And then there’s the entire SHINee discography too. There’s so much Taemin to love that it’s hard to know what to feature today. But I think I’ll be reasonable and pick one SHINee song (“The Feeling”), one solo song (“Advice”), and the kitten interview (because I have to).
