Movieacados! In full disclosure it does not take much to get me excited for movies. There are like 4 movies in theatres right now that I am excited to go see because they look like I will really enjoy them (and probably I will only see one or two in theatres at best), but every once and awhile there is some extra special excitement that comes along. A movie that hits all the right notes to get me super hyped based usually on who is involved, seeing a cool trailer/preview and sometimes even the right kind of buzz surrounding it, sometimes it is something as simple as a really cool concept for a movie.
And as luck would have it this week we see a release for just such a movie for me in I Love Boosters. This movie has everything going for it, first off it is Boots Riley’s follow up to Sorry to Bother You from… holy crap 8 years ago!?!? Sorry to Bother You was at the very least an original movie that was not afraid to get weird, which is increasingly rare in this day and age, like I know in previous posts I have spent some time on franchises, but that is because franchises are so prevalent in modern movies and I have grown to accept that, but what I truly love is new and original movies so I am double excited for the prospect here. As if that wasn’t enough to get me excited then the cast for this is fantastic, the trailer makes it look really great and I am getting that feeling again, which ticks pretty much every box I listed above and then some, which also means that I am probably getting way too ahead of myself here but also I don’t care and I will just enjoy this while it lasts for me.
All this is well and good for me, but I am interested in your stories! So this week’s prompt is simple: When is the last or biggest time you remember getting really excited for a movie? I mean this could go way back for a lot of us, there are three rounds of Star Wars Trilogies to choose from, that time Danzig managed to successfully bring his passion project to the big screen, or a cinematic Kids in the Hall venture…
