Movieacados! This week is a very special week here: It’s Burger Week! Or it was anyway, Burger Week was so successful that a couple of years ago they made it Burger Bash and added 3 days. Over 100 local restaurants participate and each one makes an extra special burger offering with a portion of proceeds for each special burger sold going to the local food bank. It is a great time and most importantly I can get some great burgers out of the deal.
Food itself has a special place in movies. Given the power of cinema you can almost taste or smell the delicacies offered onscreen using sound and sights to awaken the senses. We pretty much all love food and seeing it up on the big screen is a mouth watering way to delight my senses and often make me pay attention a bit more to what is happening knowing there is something yummy for me to admire. We get to see culture, we get street meet, fine dining and comfort food scenes all over the place, food itself is almost a language translating through cinema.
So, being that as it may this week’s prompt is pretty simple: What is your favourite food related movie? This could be movies that prominently feature food, scenes at a restaurant, cooking, food service industry workers, and anything else I may not have thought of/mentioned.
