If you think your team is plagued by injuries… well, it probably is, but the New Jersey Devils are dealing with an especially unfortunate one this week, as reported by ESPN.com:
New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes had successful surgery on his finger Saturday, the team announced. The expected recovery time is eight weeks, though he will be reevaluated in six weeks. According to sources, Hughes injured his hand in a “freak accident” that involved getting cut by glass at a team dinner Thursday.
(So he got drunk and smashed a glass, gotcha.)

The regular-season hockey threads won’t be pinned, so you might want to keep this open in a separate tab if you’d like to keep an eye on it until the next one goes up. (Considering how fast unpinned posts slide down the home page, I’ll probably be slapping up a new one of these every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as long as I remember to do so.) Otherwise, you can always find these under the Sports > Hockey menu at the top of the home page.
Have fun and happy hockey!
