Welcome back to the History Thread! Had a decent vacation, whose historic highlight beyond much book buying, was visiting the Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick. They had an extremely detailed and enjoyable (as much as you can enjoy such things) collection of exhibits on the evolving science of military medicine in the 19th Century: discussions about the state of medical science at the time, the training and education doctors would have received, profiles of notable nurses and surgeons, and of course the Antietam Arm:
Definitely worth a visit if the time or subject interests you. And don’t forget your massive shelves of paranormal paperbacks!
