Tonight’s featured Jaguar is… running back Montell Owens!
After playing college ball at the University of Maine (where he minored in jazz performance), Montell Owens was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he played for 7 seasons, a remarkable career for someone who wasn’t even drafted. A special teams ace, he was responsible for elevating the whole Jaguars squad in seasons when the aging defense and sputtering offense couldn’t really pull their weight. He had a brief stint with the Detroit Lions in 2013 but will forever be remembered as a sure special teams tackler in Duval.
