Last week we had a natural disaster, this week is a manmade disaster, the catastrophic collapse of a badly engineered dam by William Mulholland (yes, that one). Many of the dead were Mexican immigrants, often undocumented.

Great Caitlyn Doughty video on this. She touches on early 1900s water rights wars and the decisions made contibuting to this disaster. I’m from LA and had never heard about this dam or its collapse before this video.
