Anyone celebrating today? I’m not aware of any specific foods that are prepared to celebrate the victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. According to Wikipedia the growth in popularity of the holiday in the U.S. is due to advertising campaigns by beer, wine, and tequila companies, go figure. As for me, any excuse, or no excuse at all, is a good reason to eat some Mexican food!
