This past weekend, the wrestling world said goodbye to Sting as an active performer. His final match was a Tag Team match with Darby All in against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution. With most retirement matches, it’s expected that the retiree “goes out on their back.” Sting not only won his retirement match but won it as a champion. This should be a gross violation of tradition but that match was so goddamn great that I don’t care. It was one of the best matches of Sting’s career. The Young Bucks are so great at playing despicable little shits that I was cheering when Sting made them tap out.
