Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Jun. 25

Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Jun. 25 – Let’s meet today’s contestants:

– Kelly, a teacher from Mississippi, who took the long way around at the Vatican;
– Ben, a financial planner from Nebraska , who sang the intro to “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” during a Stones tour; and
– Jordan, a lawyer from Ontario, who studied what he was interested in before becoming an attorney. Jordan is a one-day champ with winnings of $15,800.

Jordan was on the edge of a runaway going into the final category about adverbs but couldn’t nail it down, so everyone was alive into FJ with Jordan at $11,600, Kelly with $8,200 and Ben at $7,800.

DD1 – KUWAIT KUWAIT – Kuwait is one of these jurisdictions from Arabic for “commander” (Jordan won $1,000)

DD2 – THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION – General Thomas Gage, military governor of this colony, gave the orders that started the war in 1775 (Kelly won $2,000)

DD3 – GONE A YEAR ALREADY – The co-host of “Morning Joe” called this national security adviser an “inspiring, loving & devoted father” (Jordan lost $2,000)

FJ – STATE NAME ORIGINS – Though it doesn’t have “island” in its name, it’s named after a European island

Only Kelly was correct on FJ, adding $8,000 to win with $16,200. Ben gave up his chance at a possible Triple Stumper win by betting nearly everything from a close third place.

That’s before our time: No one knew the all-female band whose music is used in the musical “Head Over Heels” is The Go-Go’s.

Judging the judges: Surprised that a response of “Allman” was deemed sufficient without having to specify which one.

This day in Trebekistan: Now that the champ is no longer Canadian, maybe we won’t have to hear Trebek call a player a “foreigner” for a while. Also, being from New Jersey, I wouldn’t have known the difference if the state had been called New Guernsey.

Correct Qs:
DD1 – What is an emirate?
DD2 – What is Massachusetts?
DD3 – Who was Brzezinski?
FJ – What is New Jersey?
