I just watched Gremlins 2: The New Batch for the first time since childhood, and man, it is a damn delight. As a few reviewers said, it’s basically a live-action cartoon with unrestrained lunacy and sharp social commentary.

I could go into all sorts of detail about the highlights (Christopher Lee! Canadian restaurant! Hulk Hogan! Phoebe Cates! Robert Forster appearing to decide “Hey, maybe having sex with this Gremlin would be alright”!), but it’s hard to know where to start. So I’ll just offer this:
