September 22 is Hobbit Day. As if you didn’t know! It’s actually the birthdays of both our halfling heroes, Frodo and Bilbo Baggins. Also it’s my first day thread, and I can think of no better tribute to The Avocado than a quote from Bilbo:

“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”

 

No, but seriously, you guys are alright. My favorite Frodo quote shows his bravery. If only he had some sort of fellows to help him along the way…

“I will take the Ring, though I do not know the way.”

Yet my most precious quote is from the greatest BFF in literature. As difficult as the world can be, I think Samwise said it best:

“There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for.”
