In an Oscar year dominated by The Godfather, plenty of deserving films were pushed to the side… including a few performances from The Godfather! While we’re on the subject, Diane Keaton was nominated in both Lead and Supporting Actress, which I didn’t correct in time. I kept her in lead, as she got more votes there, and as little time as the film has for women, she had a more significant role than Supporting nominee Talia Shire.

Now, on to the voting! Remember, upvote as many films and performances as you feel are deserving, and the top vote-getter in each category will get a gold statue of Spike Lee. Please do not suggest more films — the time for that was last week, or next week when we move on to 1971!
