The Jurassic Park Day Thread 6/11

Twenty-five years ago, Steven directed a movie about a futuristic amusement park where dinosaurs are brought to life through advanced cloning techniques. It was adapted from a book called “Billy and the Cloneasaurus.”

The movie starred velociraptors, a Tyrannosaurus rex, a triceratops, a brontosaurus, and a bunch of humans. The movie introduced kids to the giant feathery beast we know as “dinosaurs”, only depicting them as fat bipedal lizards mostly. (And to be fair, the movie does talk about the bird theory fairly early on.) Of course, we all know this is because they added a bunch of frog DNA, which is why these dinos have thick reptilian skin.

It’s also a movie where Sam Jackson gave us valuable advice about things to do with your derriere.

So come celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park! And remember the words of Wise Man Yankovic… it’s frightening in the dark with all those dinosaurs running wild.
