I’ve been thinking a lot about the White House issuing a statement saying that because John Kelly won’t let staffers swear in front of a lady, he is actually, I don’t know, a feminist ally or something. This would likely be a non-story if such behavior was a function of his being a genteel, polite, modest, old-fashioned gentleman.

But he’s not. See, that aforementioned statement was in response to reports that he routinely tells aides that women are just more emotional than men. And he has repeatedly offered his support for Rob Porter, the man who, when it comes to women he has married and then physically assaulted, is 2-for-2. I’m sure there are more but those are the examples I keep thinking about. So, you know, fuck John Kelly.
