Box Office: October 27-29, 2017

YOUR BOX OFFICE NUMBERS (from Box Office Mojo)

1. Jigsaw
2. Boo! 2
3. Geostorm
4. Happy Death Day
5. Blade Runner 2049

Today is your reminder that the first Saw movie came out in 2004, when today’s thrill-seeking teens were still in diapers. Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween and fellow October 20 survivor Geostorm both had better holding power than The Snowman, which crashed down to 17th place with a legendary 65% dropoff from its first weekend. I went to see Blade Runner 2049 again, but it’s not going to make its money back.

Thank You for Your Service opened in sixth place on 2,000+ screens, but it gets worse. Suburbicon opened in ninth place on 2,000+ screens, which means some poor bastard at Paramount is going to have to explain how George Clooney made a film that lost handily to second-week Geostorm. And It is still holding on in 10th place, having lost no theaters this week.
