Although they had all survived the night and caught one of the heretics (by the grace of god), the day was a frantic and stressful one. Brittiana had gone for a nap, Cicchi sat in the corner staring off at nothing, and Crobuzon simply paced.
An hour passed. Two hours.
“We might as well have another vote,” suggested Gregorio, “There’s still plenty of daylight.”
The elderly nun was roused from her nap, the rest from their dazed stupors. Shiparella still sat at the dining table, her head down on her arms.
“Sister Shiparella, did you hear?” said Gregorio, “We’re having a new vote.”
She did not respond. When they lifted her head, they found that she too had been poisoned.
Shipwreck has died. They were one of the faithful (vanilla town).
